Czech Books

Between 1929 and 1934, Sister Vita Zeman compiled four books that would be used in Bohemian Catholic Schools.  The project was underwritten by the National Alliance of Bohemian Catholics.  In a letter written to Mother Thomasine Frye at August 27, 1934,  John Straka, president of the organization wrote that the financing was to “enable Sisters to teach the Bohemian language more readily and the Bohemian-American children could attain more easily a general knowledge of their mother-tongue.”
